I am an independent journalist and photographer, based in Southeast Asia and working widely across the world. I focus principally on the intersection of the environment with technology, business and society.
My writing and photography has appeared in Wired, Monocle, the Atlantic, Nikkei Asian Review, Newsweek, the Guardian, the Financial Times, the Times Literary Supplement and others.
From 2008-2011 I was the founding editor of the Financial Times Ltd’s This Is Africa magazine, and in 2016 I was the editor of Raconteur magazine, a short-lived attempt to launch a current affairs free-sheet in London. I have been a digital producer at CNBC and was briefly the business editor of the Huffington Post UK. I have a degree in physics from Imperial College, London.
