I am an independent journalist and photographer, based in Southeast Asia and working widely across the world. I mainly focus on the interconnections between the environment, science, technology, business and human rights, but I also dabble in film, culture and politics.
My writing and photography has appeared in Wired, the Atlantic, Nikkei Asian Review, Newsweek, the Guardian, the Financial Times, the Times Literary Supplement and others.
From 2008-2011 I was the founding editor of the Financial Times Ltd’s This Is Africa magazine, and in 2016 I was the editor of Raconteur magazine, a short-lived attempt to launch a current affairs free-sheet in London. I have been a digital producer at CNBC and was, for a brief period, the business editor of the Huffington Post UK. I have a degree in physics from Imperial College, London.
